ABOUT CASSANDRA
Women’s Coach, Former Lawyer, Friend.
I founded Sharing Cassandra based on my own journey of ending burnout cycles and re-aligning my life to joy.
I spent a decade building a career as a big law attorney in Chicago, landing myself a shiny office overlooking the river at the highest-grossing law firm in the world. I thought I had “made it.” I went into big law with the half-hearted belief that I would stay a few years, pay off my student loans, and then go do something that really fulfilled my soul (a tale as old as time). Yet years into it, I found myself continuing to climb the ladder with absolutely no plan to leave.
It was only until I decided to end my marriage that I really woke up to all aspects my life. Was I actually happy in my career? Sure, I had everything I had sought to achieve and all of the paper successes. But what was it costing me? I spent almost all of my time working. I lost sleep and missed celebrations and generally sat in a wake of stress. The first thing I did when I woke up was check my email, often jumping right out of bed and onto my laptop. I worked until the late hours of the night, only to wake up and do it all over again. My life was my job, and it came before everything, including myself.
I realized I had lost myself in pursuit of a career that catered to only one part of me. So I left. I put everything I owned into storage, left my law practice, and traveled across the country and world. I started living again. I re-centered my life to fun, joy, and things I truly loved. I came home to myself in so many beautiful ways, including nurturing the spiritual side of myself that I had stored away for so long. I did the work to understand how I got where I was, healing my inner child (who was scared) and sitting down with my inner teenager (who was mad). I learned a tremendous amount about relationships and took a good look at my own patterns. I uncovered my self-limiting beliefs around my career and money and I re-wrote them. I learned and developed spiritual practices that absolutely changed my life. I came into alignment with myself, developing a deeper understanding of who I was, and I stepped into a life that I am truly proud of.
I now live in Charleston, South Carolina with my sweet pup, Ted, and cuddly cat, Willow. My days are softer, slower, and spent more intentionally on what fulfills me and brings me joy. I paint, make pottery, write, and am lucky enough to spend many sunsets on the beach. I no longer sacrifice myself or live in a state of stress, and I am honored to be able to work with other women in helping them do the same.

a few facts about me
I love art. In school, I took every possible art class, from ceramics to photography to architectural drafting. In my 20s, I lost that part of myself in pursuit of my career as a lawyer. I came back home to my creative side in my 30s and now paint, write, make pottery, and love to try new creative outlets like embroidery and sewing.

I skateboard and snowboard! Another coming home to myself moment and reminder that you’re never too old. My middle school emo phase was “not just a phase, Mom.” After I left my law practice to travel, I learned how to snowboard in Colorado and picked back up a longboard in California.

I’m a Capricorn sun, Gemini rising, and Scorpio moon. What does that mean? In short, I love to get things done, learn new things, and feel the most fulfilled when I’m helping others in a meaningful way. If you asked me about astrology a few years ago, I would have known absolutely nothing about what any of that meant. It’s now a topic I love to teach others! It helped me understand why I was a great lawyer, yet was not fulfilled with a career focused on bottom lines.
